Child’s World Infant / Toddler Programs
(Ages 2 weeks – 3 years)
Infant Program (2 Weeks – 1 Year)
Your baby’s first year of life is an amazing time of growth and discovery. We realize the importance of the choices you are making for your child’s future.
Our infant care is designed to give your precious bundle lots of love, attention, security and stimulation.
A teacher who has been specially trained for infants will make sure your child’s needs are consistently met. Babies are fed, while being held or rocked, either on demand or according to your direction. We chart your baby’s eating, sleeping and diapering times daily so you are informed about your child’s day with us.
Our infant room is filled with colorful and interesting things to see and do. A wide variety of toys are provided to stimulate your child and provide new sensory opportunities. Our teachers will talk, sing and read to your child each day. Rolling and tummy time provide your infant with the opportunity to develop strength and increased mobility.
We pride ourselves on keeping a sanitary and clean environment for your baby. Your child’s health is a priority at Child’s World.
Wee Walker Program (Approximately 1 Year – 2 Years)
As your baby begins walking, our wee walker program accommodates their growing interest in learning new things. Colors and shapes will be emphasized during group time, as well as finger plays, stories and songs. Your child will enjoy sensory activities such as water play, pudding painting and chasing bubbles.
Small motor skill activities, such as stacking blocks, eating finger foods, and shape sorters, help to develop strength and dexterity. Large motor skill activities, such as outdoor play, rolling on mats, and tricycle riding, develop coordination.
Wee walkers will enjoy a hot lunch and will begin eating at a table. Emphasis is given to developing a sleeping and eating schedule to help ensure your child a smooth transition into our toddler program.
Toddler Preschool Program (Approximately 2 Years – 3 Years)
Your toddler’s day will be filled with many different activities. Our teachers regularly join children in play, modeling appropriate behavior toward others and challenging them to create and explore. Teachers recognize the success of students and use positive reinforcement to encourage good behavior and future accomplishments.
The alphabet, shapes, colors and numbers will be introduced through the senses. At circle time, a variety of stories, songs, finger plays and games will capture your child’s interest in learning. Daily art projects will reinforce concepts that are learned during group time while they provide the sensory activities that toddlers love.
Our goal is to provide an environment that is equipped to promote active learning. A wide range of materials and types of play are provided for your toddler. The following are opportunities your child will have in the classroom:
As your child becomes ready, attention is given to potty training. Table manners, good eating and healthy snacks are emphasized. At your request, a toddler activity sheet can be sent home to keep you informed about your child’s day with us, including diapering, potty training and sleeping habits.
Infant, Wee Walker and Toddler Programs
All children under the age of 3 years are assigned to a primary caregiver. A primary caregiver is a teacher who is responsible for the care of individual children. This provides continuity in the relationship as the child, teacher and parent establish a bond. As a result, effective communication takes place and a more predictable atmosphere for everyone is created.
